Sundeal
Silver gelatin, wood / 2024 / 70x100 cm
Sundial employs the camera-less technique of the photogram to register both an object and the shadow it casts, collapsing presence and absence into a single visual trace. The work reflects on the immaterial passage of time, made visible only through the shifting relationship of light and form. By fixing the transient shadow onto photosensitive paper, the piece transforms a fleeting moment into permanence, questioning how perception mediates between reality and its imprint. In this way, Sundial becomes not merely an image but a reflection of temporality, visibility, and the act of seeing itself.
