Silver gelatin photogram series / 2024 / 9 pieces, 20 x 30 cm
The gelatin silver photograms challenge the conventional understanding of photography as a medium to be preserved from damage, beginning instead with the deliberate crumpling and distressing of the paper. Through the camera-less photogram process, the paper records only its own shadow, transforming material alteration into a visual imprint. Even when the paper is smoothed, the traces of its folds remain visible, preserving a sense of spatiality and the memory of its prior deformation. The element of chance is central, as each act of crumpling produces unique, unrepeatable structures.
